I specialize in picture books (ages 4+), but I also write for older readers (7+), such as the fairy-tale series Fonkelnieuwe sprookjes (Sparkling New Fairy Tales). My stories are filled with imagination, action, and a warm message. I want to intrigue, entertain, and inspire readers—from the very first page to the last!

At Clavis Uitgeverij, ten of my children’s books have been published so far, resulting in 14 translations, multiple reprints, and various spin-offs (including softcover Boektoppers editions at Van In, an audiobook, a theatre-style language performance, and an e-book). By commission from the Haga Kinderziekenhuis, I wrote (and illustrated) a digital picture book for young patients. For Schrijven Magazine I wrote the article 'How to make a picture book?'

As an illustrator, I’ve worked on picture books, children’s books, teaching materials, animations, apps, and merchandise. Clients include Zwijsen, Deltas, Bobo, Hema, Eneco, Puma and Sony Music.

For Puma and Eneco, I designed internal-use character mascots; for Xenos I created a range of Sinterklaas merchandise; and for Sony Music I delivered artwork to spotlight one of their artists in a playful way.

In 2020, together with the author, I won the Audience Award “Het leukste kinderboek” (The Most Fun Children’s Book) (illustrations) from The Indie Awards.

In addition to books, I create trailers with animation, music, and songs. Through YouTube (and soon TikTok) I invite children and parents into my creative process.
